04 · What moves the price

Four things decide your price

Knowing them helps you keep the budget where you want it.

Material

Fabric grade, filling or plastic type sets the base cost per piece.

Mold

Molded items need a one-time mold, about US$5,000 per separate part. Fewer parts, lower cost.

Why molds cost what they do Design guide: simplify your design before quoting

Finish

Embroidery, printing, painting or hot stamping each add work and material.

Quantity

More pieces spread the mold and setup cost, so each piece costs less.

06 · FAQ

Questions before a deposit

What is the minimum order?

Plush and soft goods start at 500 pieces per design for Vietnam and 1,000 per design for export, and ready-made OEM catalogue patterns can be mixed across designs from 500 pieces per order. Blind boxes and other molded products start at 3,000 pieces because a mold has to be built first.

Why do molded products cost more to start?

Every separate part needs its own steel mold, about US$5,000 per part, and each mold is tested twice before production. The mold is a one-time cost spread across your order, so larger runs bring the price per piece down.

How does the quote work?

Send a spec sheet, a reference sample or just an idea. Takara prices it with the right partner factory and sends an itemized FOB quote covering materials, production, finishing and packaging, usually within 3 business days.

What are the payment terms?

Terms are set in each contract and tailored to your order: typically a deposit to start production and the balance before handover.

Are sample revisions included?

Yes, up to three. The sample fee, US$100–300 depending on the design, includes three revision rounds. Further rounds are quoted separately.

What does FOB mean in my quote?

Free On Board: your price covers production, quality checks and packing up to the port of origin. Freight, insurance and import duties from there are arranged by the buyer.
